Internal Tank Coating
IMG installed a 100 mil internal Polyurea liner over pin holing and rusted steel within a wastewater tank to keep operations going until a new tank could be erected. The tank had one severe leak that was intended to be repaired upon tank cleaning. When severe damage was discovered during the cleaning and sandblasting phase, an emergency repair was needed. A fiber membrane was installed over the worst areas to supply tear strength, it was then coated with roughly 100 mils of Polyurea.
The project was a success and kept operations active and avoided costly downtime and expenses. The tank will remain in full service for an estimated six months.
